Ryan grew up in Blantyre, Malawi - the Warm Heart of Africa where his interest in community outreach and art collaboration started. At the age of 17, he re-branded and launched a papermaking company (Bapepa) made up entirely of woman who worked in the tea plantations of Thyolo, Malawi. He studied Fine Art at the university currently known as Rhodes and spent three years working and traveling in Thailand. Upon his return to South Africa, Ryan was part of the team that created the children's book The Girl without A Sound and Blood Labyrinth - A Graphic Encounter. He is a freelance designer and volunteers his voice to record audiobooks for the blind. One of Ryan’s main objectives behind ATIO is to promote positive community engagement and growth through Art in the neighbourhood. He loves to collaborate and is always looking for the next project to get involved in.
